"September Potpourri for $800, Alex!"

I have so many random stories and memories from this month all jumbled together that altogether it seems like the "Potpourri" category from Jeopardy.

I noticed Cambria exploring the house with her eyes closed and her hands out as she wandered around. As much as it made ME laugh, she was really cracking HERSELF up over it all.

Occasionally, Cambria's behavior warrants some time alone in her crib (we call it an "uh oh"). This week I put her in there and as I shut the door she started to cry, "Daddy! Daddy!" It was bound to happen one of these days...

It takes me TEN SECONDS to go to the bathroom. I'm a mom. I've perfected it. But ten seconds appears to be all it takes. Last week Titan started crying and I rushed out to discover Cambria sitting on top of Mr. T in his bouncy chair. Another time, he was a little fussy to begin with as I made "The Mom Dash" an d suddenly the fussiness was full-blown baby hysterics. Turns out Cambria was trying to share her milk with Titan and he was an absolutely drippy mess!
It's hard to entertain Cambria and nurse Titan simultaneously, so I have been letting her watch an episode of Daniel Tiger while I am occupied with him. Moms, what do you do with a rambunctious toddler other than stick them in front of a screen? Toys don't last long enough, coloring becomes drawing on the furniture, and Play Doh gets eaten. I'm out of ideas!
For a change of routine, I wanted to give Cambria a bubble bath. The trouble was, I couldn't find bubble bath at the store. So I used Dawn dish soap and gave her a "ghetto bubble bath." Don't worry, Andrew found Mr. Bubbles the next time he was at the store.
Mr. T sleeping in his bouncy chair:
He is such a dreamboat with that cute half smile of his. I tried to get a video of him smiling another time when he was awake, but he gave me something else instead:
Cambria was wearing her Elsa dress-up from Aunt Sarah and I took a few videos of her on the iPad:
Titan is finally alert enough to enjoy spending time on the activity mat. I got it out for him one Sunday after Church so he looks dressed up for the occasion:
Titan celebrated all of that fun with a massive blowout and needed a bath afterwards:
Cambria was pretty jealous of all of the fun Titan appeared to be having on his activity mat and joined him:
Andrew laid Titan down on the mat one morning to make breakfast for Cambria and he scooted himself over and was trying to get the tags on this toy hippo in his mouth!
Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, Titan took a bottle! On September 22, we reluctantly gave it a try and he took to it like a duck to water. Thank heavens! It will be so liberating to know that we can use a bottle if we need to.
I had an unsuccessful trip to the Lynchburg "mall" with Titan in the Baby Bjorn and Cambria in the umbrella stroller at the end of the month. I was hoping to do some "shopping" and kill some time with the kids but neither one was having it. I only survived a dash into Yankee Candle Company for some Fall tarts before calling it quits. This mischievous imp pictured below decided the candles smelled good enough to eat and helped herself on the drive home.
Titan moved up to size 2 diapers and size 3-6 months clothes on September 26. At least we got a little more use out of his 0-3 months clothes than the short two weeks spent in newborn sizes. But big babies mean more sleep for Mommy at night! He sleeps for about 7-8 hours at night before waking up to nurse and then goes back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. Not bad for 6 weeks old!
This is what a real milk coma looks like (tongue hanging out and all!):
Titan has started cooing and talking. He even laughed at Andrew on September 29 and at me on September 30.
