Here are some anecdotes from the remainder of February:
On February 9, Cambria was weaned completely. It was a no-fuss affair and easy as could be. I couldn't believe it! One time a few days later, I leaned over and Cambria made a quick grab for my cleavage but other than that it was like she didn't even notice. I am so glad that went as easy as it did and I am grateful that I was able to successfully breastfeed Cambria for her first year. That was my biggest source of anxiety (even more than labor and delivery) and it all went so well.
Cambria continues to love her music. She just rocks outs! And beyond music, she loves to rock back and forth to the timer on the toaster oven, a squeaky wheel on a shopping cart, the KitchenAid, etc. She especially loves her toys that have music.
Watching home videos continues to be her favorite pastime.
Every time Daddy shows off the Brigham Young property in Nauvoo, Cambria makes the same hand gestures and looks back at us for approval. It's so cute!
Cambria is getting better about sitting up on things by herself. Here is a photo from Sunday School that Daddy took while Cambria was sitting in a little chair and eating her lunch (thank you, travel pouches for helping us get through our Church block!)
And here is a video from the first time we let her sit by herself on the couch. I was a little nervous every time she kept lunging forward!
She hasn't figured out how to pull herself up on top of furniture yet but she is trying. She did master rising to stand independently the last day of the month and that has really increased her mobility since she doesn't need the assistance of a piece of furniture to get to standing.
Her first deciduous molars are still slowly erupting. When she was at my parents' house at the beginning of the month, she found one of Kyle's (or Mom's???) old Star Trek action figures and gnawed the heck out of it. My dad decided to go on a search to find Cambria one of her own to take back to Virginia. He ended up ordering one online for her and sending it in the mail.
It is her favorite teething toy and already the paint has rubbed off on his hair and most of his eyebrows. The other morning, I found the action figure in Cambria's stroller sitting next to her baby doll. That cracked me up!
This girl WILL NOT keep her shoes and socks on to save her life. And it is the dead of winter and therefore completely necessary to wear shoes and socks! She pulls one off while I am putting the other on and sometimes we will go back and forth a few times before both are on her feet simultaneously. On this particular day, I buckled her in her car seat and walked around to the driver's side to get in and both her shoes and socks were off already! Augh! Cambria Mitchell!
After a first trimester hiatus, we finally made our way back to the library. Of course Cambria was in heaven. She is now big enough to run around and likes to play with the puzzles, blocks, stuffed animals, and her beloved fish links (naturally). She pulls books from the shelves but she is still too hard on them to check any out. Everything still goes in her mouth and she has ripped a page in one of her paperback books before so only board books for now. She loves it when other kids are at the library and will plop right down and play with them. One time, she came and sat with a family while the mom was reading aloud and started turning the pages. That was embarrassing for me!
I continue to enjoy my Fridays working at Peaksview Dental. I know Andrew loves being home with Cambria and having that special time with her. One Friday, he had to take her to school with him for an impromptu meeting. She just quietly ate her lunch in her stroller while he met with his classmates.
Cambria still spends a few hours on Friday at the Malones. She loves to see Brooklyn and Sydney and her face lights up on Sundays now that she recognizes them at Church as well. This is a cute photo Lauren sent to me of Sydney (who is only three!) "holding" Cambria while she has her bottle. I swear they are the same size! So cute!

There are parts on the videos that she has certain actions to. On our wedding video, she drops everything and comes running over to clap along to the song "Hey Mama" by Mat Kearney. She loves to make her monkey sound (which is now her generic animal sound) every time the pink horse pulling the carriage is shown on the GART 2012 video. And this:
